Hot days by the Black Sea
The hot Bulgarian sun and the Black Sea attracted more than 100 journalists plus their families to the 32nd Tennis World championships in Varna from August 29 to September 5. Players from all over Eastern and Western Europe and Canada revelled in a week of outstanding tennis and value-for-money in the Grand Hotel Varna Resort. The European championships for journalists achieved a new record in 2009 – its 21st anniversary. Seventy five men and women from 12 countries competed on the clay courts in Poertschach beside Lake Woerthersee from May 4 to 7. more...

Over thirty years of media tennis
Journalists have been meeting to compete on the tennis courts of Europe and once in Canada for the past 31 years. It all started with an idea by the Italians who established the first tournament in Venice in 1978. In 2009, more than 150 journalists from 25 countries in all age categories will get together in Varna, Bulgaria from August 29 to September 5 for the 32nd World Championships for Journalist Tennis Players. Before that from May 4-8 journalists compete in the 21st European Tennis Championships in Poertschach, Austria. more…
